Super Deluxe
On December 5th, 2017, the stage of SuperDeluxe in downtown Tokyo had the honour of hosting a performance like no other: Kaoru Watanabe and Fumi Tanakadate are joined on stage by Kiyohiko Semba, Tetsuro Naito, and Chieko Kojima. Among the public, we have legends of the Japanese and international music scene like Grandmaster Seiichi Tanaka who, along with past and present members of Kodo and many more musicians from around the globe, had come to witness this exquisite display of skill. Time stops to give way to the drums, flutes, voices, strings, and even a couple of rubber ducks.
The program includes works from Néo, of which James Nadal, from All About Jazz says:
“…is so ethereal that words to describe it skip like a breeze on water. It encompasses time and space from a culture that remains elusive and exotic”
